The American Psychiatrics Association’s attempt to silence a dissenting DMS-5 blogger has backfired, with the rejuvenated blog more popular than ever.
Suzy Chapman, was forced to close down her watchdog site http://DSM5watch.wordpress.com after receiving a ‘cease and desist’ notice from APA for breach of the DSM-5 copyright.
But spurred on by a flurry of outspoken support from psychiatrists, allied mental health professionals and science writers Ms Chapman’s new site has earned an even wider audience.
In a statement on her new blog http://dxrevision.wordpress.com,
Ms Chapman thanked those who had “spoken out in opposition to what they [saw] as arrogant censorship on the part of the American Psychiatric Association”.
