ATAPS has been an integral part of the primary mental health care system and the introduction in 2010 of the second tier of service attempting to treat hard to reach groups has been a success, a University of Melbourne report concludes.
Overall, the program appeared to successfully treat its target group, with about half the consumers being low income earners and 3.3% being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, according to the report led by Bridget Bassilios from the Cenre for Health Policy, Programs and Economics at the University of Melbourne.
