Medicare seeks sense of satisfaction

Doctors investigated for rorting Medicare will be offered the chance to fill in a satisfaction survey to show how happy they are with the investigation process. Medicare Australia revealed last week that it had designed a compliance activity survey, which will allow health professionals to rate on a scale of 0-5 their treatment by Medicare Australia's staff. Completion of the survey will be voluntary and doctors can remain anonymous. The survey will consist of seven questions, and doctors will be asked whether they were given the opportunity to respond to Medicare Australia's concerns and whether they felt their privacy was protected. It will also ask if the information provided by Medicare Australia staff was helpful "in understanding how to correctly use the MBS and PBS". In a statement Medicare Australia said it was working on ways to make the results of the survey public....
